Work Choice

For people with disabilities whose needs cannot be met by other Jobcentre Plus programmes.

Work Choice is aimed at those whose disability means they face serious and often complex barriers to work and mainstream provision may not be appropriate.  It is individually tailored to help customers move into and stay in work (including self-employment).  The programme is delivered by contracted providers funded by DWP; these providers may sub-contract some delivery to local, specialist agencies.

  • One of the critical success criteria of this new DWP programme  is maximising participation of people in contact with secondary mental health services to work more than 16 hours a week.
